My initial experience was very much the same as yours until I took my 
Turbo-Lid equipped harmonica to a Boise recording studio. The engineer loved 
it! When he played it back, so did I...

To hear the real differences in tone and timbre try recording with the same 
harmonica, same song, same settings, with standard coverplates and 
Turbo-Lids. I was amazed...
